Dublin Gig Guide : 2nd – 8th October 2017

Dublin Gig Guide : 2nd – 8th October 2017

It’s that time of the week once more where we lay out all the gigs happening this week around the city! Lots to get through as usual so let’s get on with it!

Kicking off the week we have All Them Witches who will be playing at Whelan’s! After announcing that their new album “Sleeping Through The War” will be released in early February. Their usual brand of big fuzz, deep grooves and comsic vision will ring out for the evening and tickets are only €13! Meanwhile, we have Trevor Sensor performing over in the Bello Bar in Portobello. Since his debut EP for Jagjaguwar, Texas Girls and Jesus Christ, the Illinois-born 22-year-old singer/songwriter’s distinctive burr of a voice sounds aged decades beyond his years. Fantastic melodies and a sense of maturity when it comes to his songwriting. With Annabelle Allum providing support you’d be mad to miss this one!

Tuesday night we have South-London legends Squeeze playing at Vicar Street as part of a two-night stint in Dublin! Squeeze recently blew the crowds at Glastonbury away with their performance at the Pyramid Stage earlier on in the year and have been on the road with a huge tour of the UK and Ireland! Wednesday night, the National Concert Hall plays host to Beoga & the RTÉ Concert Orchestra playing! Beoga is the Irish for ‘lively’ and couldn’t suit this band any better! It was around 15 years ago that Beoga began jamming together around 15 years ago as part of a All-Ireland Fleadh and something clicked. With countless awards and accolades under their belt, no better accompaniment than the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and David Brophy on conducting duties, this will be a night to remember!

Thursday we have Lady Antebellum, the trio from Nashville, Tennessee have sold over 18 million albums worldwide and are flying high off the success of their most recent single “You Look Good” from their latest studio album “Heart Break”. With three albums in their repertoire that have reached Platinum, the future looks bright! Catch them at 3 Arena with doors from 6.30PM!

Kicking off the weekend we have The Stunning playing a SOLD OUT show at the Olympia Theatre to celebrate their 30th Anniversary! With a new single titled “Brighten Up My Life” they will certainly brighten up their fans lives with new material, with the release of a new single, could their be an album in the works? Let’s hope so! Meanwhile, in the same venue on Saturday night, Post-Rock band Alter Bridge play their second show this year to another SOLD OUT crowd! Expect crunching guitars, searing leads, and a fantastic performance all around! Closing out the weekend on Sunday night we have Joss Stone. The soulful singer will be performing with a live orchestra! She is known to possess one of the greatest voices of her generation, and after recently performing with Burt Bacharach last year, she amazed audiences with her unique voice and musicality. She plays Vicar Street from 7.30PM!
