Enrolment Conditions & Term Info
Enrolling for a class here at Sound Training Music Academy is simple! Just fill out a contact form and/or you can enquire directly to info@soundtraining.com. Our terms last for 10-weeks (commencement & completion dates tbc per term) if your application comes in during an ongoing term, we will contact you about starting at the next available term, providing there is enough availability. There is occasionally a short 5-week term which consists of 1-hour private lessons and costs €250 also. When booking a slot for lessons, every effort is made to accommodate the student's time & day preference, however this cannot be guaranteed due to our tutors schedules. Scheduling will be done on a first come, first served basis. Finalised term dates, beginning & end will be determined at the Academy managers discretion. Classes may be postponed at any time throughout the term when an academy member of staff will contact all students via text message or email to notify them of cancelled classes. These missed classes will be made up at the end of term and do not count towards the students 10 lessons.
Fees
Our terms run for 10-week intervals consisting of 30-minute private lessons. The fees for a term are €250. We may also run a short term of 5-weeks, consisting of 1-hour lessons. At Sound Training Music Academy we accept Cash, Credit/Debit Card, Cheque & Bank Transfer. If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please contact (01) 6709033 and we can give you our bank account number. If paying by bank transfer you must include your name as a reference. Those paying instalment payments by cash, credit/debit card must pay a €100 deposit to secure your place, €100 after 4 lessons and the remaining €50 must be paid prior to lesson number 7.
Attendance Policy
If a student is to miss a class they must notify the academy manager at least 48 hours before the lesson as a courtesy to the teacher. We offer one catch up lesson per student, per term. This is provided in an additional week at the end of term, or a double lesson depending on availability. Unexplained absences or turning up late to a lesson, will not result in a make up class or refund. As lessons are booked back-to-back, please make sure you're on time for your lesson as there always a student after you. We understand that sometimes missing classes is unavoidable, in this case, we will do our best to reschedule the class for another available time, however this cannot be guaranteed.
Practice & Conduct
We expect our students to behave in a responsible manner, with due regard to their health & safety and the health & safety of all staff and other students of Sound Training Music Academy. As we are providing music tuition, we expect students to be engaging and respectful to both teachers and staff. Practice at home is an essential part of learning and we expect students to have their own instruments and practice as much as they can, we can provide information on buying instruments for home use if needs be. Students are not entitled to enter classrooms without permission, and may only enter to take a class. Food and drink may not be consumed in teaching/practice rooms. Smoking is strictly prohibited in Sound Training Music Academy, any breach of these rules will result in dismissal from the term with no refund. Sound Training Music Academy reserves the right to dismiss any student due to frequent absences, disciplinary reason, or overdue tuition .
Rehearsals & Studio
Here at Sound Training Music Academy we are a music school with a difference and as part of the Sound Training family, we have access to many of the great services associated with Sound Training. If you have enjoyed your time at Sound Training Music Academy, why not avail of Sound Training Productions services and get something you've learnt recorded? It can be yours to take home! We also understand that when learning something like Drums or Piano, the household may not be the best due to availability or otherwise, thankfully another member of our family is Temple Lane Rehearsals! So you can book in there and get all the practising you need!
Getting Here
Located directly in the heart of Temple Bar, Dublin 2, there is limited parking in the area and surrounding areas. As lessons are on in the evening time, you can usually find a space on Wellington Quay which is a short walk away. There is also a number of buses that go to both Wellington Quay and Dame Street which are both only a short walking distance away. You can find a full list of them at Dublin Bus. The nearest Luas stops is St. Stephens Green (Green Line) Abbey St. (Red Line) both would be a 10-minute walk away, while Dawson, Trinity & Westmorland (Luas Cross City) are 5-7 minutes away.
