alt-j – In Cold Blood

A sneak peak of their upcoming album release that’s due in June, “In Cold Blood” is a classic alt-j track, jangling guitar parts, binary code, horn sections, drum rolls and plenty of la la la la la la’s.

Kendrick Lamar – Humble

Piano driven hip-hop from one of the best in the game at the minute. Kendrick teased us a few weeks ago when he released a debut single “The Heart Part 4” from his new album. “Humble” is the follow up single to and has an accompanying video. April 7th has been rumoured to be the release date for his new album. Watch this space.

Gorillaz – Saturnz Barz (Feat. Popcaan)

With the resurgence of Gorillaz and a new album on the way, Albarn and co. have released a total of four new tracks. “Saturnz Barz” is the highlight of the four. Featuring Jamaican rapper Popcaan, it provides us with a chilled-out, low key hip-hop tune that includes vocals from the man himself Damon Albarn.

Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah – Ruler Rebel

The amazing modern jazz virtuoso is known for his work with The Christian Scott Quintet, who were recently featured on our Dublin Gig Guide. This album shy’s away from jazz and has a much more alternative sound, using samplers in conjunction with classic horn parts and piano, it creates an incredibly atmospheric album. This is the first in a three part series of albums due for release this year, titled “The Centennial Trilogy”.

Jamiroquai – Automaton

It’s been 7 years since we’ve had a new album from Jamiroquai and Automaton has been what fans have been waiting for. The album provides us with smooth synth-driven tracks, served on a bed of slick basslines along with tight and funky drums throughout.
