Ableton Live with Martin Clancy takes a comprehensive look at the main functions of the hugely popular Ableton Live software. The course is tailored for those who are relatively new to Ableton, with its aim being to quickly familiarise students with the many features available within the software. Whether you are an aspiring Music Producer, Live Performer, or DJ, this course will give you the start that you need. The course is delivered by certified Ableton instructor Martin Clancy. Martin is a Dublin/New York based producer, musician, programmer and lecturer. He has over 30 years international studio experience and has collaborated with artists such as Stonebridge, Richard Morel, Chris Cox, and Dirty Vegas. Martin has also enjoyed considerable chart success, reaching the Top 40 in the Billboard Dance Charts with the Witness Protection Programme. Martin is also a co-writer and producer with the Irish / French indie electro band Classroom Battles.
Premium students have access to private one-to-one tuition from Martin Clancy throughout the duration of the course. Martin provides comprehensive weekly feedback and guidance on production-based assignments. With over 30 years of Music Industry experience, Martin will give you the head start required to break into the competitive Music Industry.
Ableton Live with Martin Clancy
Module 1 – Getting Started in Ableton Live; Using Live as a DJ Setup; Tracks & The Browser; Creating and editing Clips; Global Quantize Values; Creating Scenes; Performing and Recording a Live Set.
Module 2 – Time, Tempo, and Rhythm; Warp Modes; Inserts & Sends; The Transport Bar; Creating a track using Clips.
Module 3 – Introduction to MIDI; Music Theory; Major Scales; C Major; Creating a Composition.
Module 4 – The MIDI Clip Editor; Session View Recap; The Arrangement View; Creating a track in Arrangement View.
Required Software : Ableton Live 9/10 Trial, Ableton Live 9/10 Standard or Ableton Live 9/10 Suite.
Note: If you do not own a copy of Ableton Live 9/10, you can download the free, fully featured Ableton Live 9/10 Trial. The trial version will allow you to fully complete this course as you can save and export your work for 30 days.
