One of the most important parts of our Sound Engineering, Music Production & Live Sound, Lighting and Stage Production courses here at Sound Training College is getting our students involved with real world, hands-on experience. Searchlight is a 4-month long development deal we have been running for the past few years in accordance with Sound Training Productions. Students will recruit up & coming bands they feel have got that special something and can do with some help, and also bands that may have made a name for themselves and want to be involved. It involves pre-production & recording time in STP Studio One, editing, mixing and mastering of 2 tracks. Live pre-production in Button Factory that will accumulate to a final showcase gig in the Button Factory! The cost of entering? FREE! Just fill out the application form and should your band/act be eligible we will get in touch! Keep your eyes peeled for our 2019 application form opening! Head over to the Searchlight tab to find out more information!

There is a big number of students who come here to learn the ins and outs of electronic music production and how they can translate what they’ve learnt into music. Throughout the year students with work with lecturers to develop their live performances which ends in a showcase gig towards the end of the year. These have been very successful in the past and many of the artists have done very well, securing residencies and bagging a number of high-profile gigs around the city.
